    Hi everyone,

I guess someone already wrote about it but i don't find any thread. I think i searched with wrong "key word".

Anyway i do my own post.

I own an Alienware 15R3 (I5-7300HQ, GTX1060). This computer starts and shut down 1 or 2 sec after.
I have no access to the bios, looks like the bios doesn't start yet.
I thought about a RAM issue, and removed it from the PC. I also removed the SSD and HDD.

I did a reset : First by removing the battery, power and CMOS battery for 5 mins.
And by pressing power button while all was removed for 1 min.

    My problem is still here.
When Ram is removed the computer "see" that and shows me "2 red light and 3 blue light", that is normal.
But when i plug the RAM the PC won't start correctly.
I tried with the RAM from my Clevo (same frequency) ... nothing changed.

I bought this computer as "starts but there is no screen, but start well". On photos i could see the keyboard and all lights switched on, but screen backlight off. So i thought a screen issue.

I plugged the PC to an external screen to exclude the internal screen.

So i think it doesn't initialize the bios. Maybe the precedant owner tried to upgrade the bios and fail.

    Any idea?

One thing i didn't try is to unplug the battery and just start with the power supply plugged.

    Anybody has a suggestion?

Try to boot from an usb key to re-install the bios but the computer still shutdown before showing something on the screen.
When i remove the RAM the PC doesn't shutdown but the screen is black without backlight aned the Alienware's button shows a "signal" that means the Ram is removed.

So I guess the motherboard is OK.
    I will continu to search.

Did you try both on battery mode and plugged in?

    2 videos.

First. This is battery unplugged, RAM and SSD plugged :

Computer isn't able to properly boot.

Second. This is battery and RAM unplugged :

Computer start and keep on. Just saying "I have no RAM".

RAM is toasted? I put it into my Clevo P751. I browse the web for 2 hours now with this RAM. So, no toasted.

    So, motherboard is toasted?
But a toasted motherboard won't be able to boot without RAM, it's not?

I undid the motherboard and found oxydation. Will try to clean it with isopropanol, and hope to revive the motherboard. But maybe I will need a new one.

Whereabouts did you find the oxidation?

Excellent investigative skills there, that has to be a short with so much built up oxidation. Should hopefully clean up and you may see a boot screen.

    Hi,

Issue's still here. I undid the heatsink and found this :

    Pic

Do you think i can change it? The motherboard's circuit protection (this blue skin) is removed. I don't have heat gun to remove it.
The reference of electronic part is BAA6WC. But i don't know where find it.

    Hi everyone,

Finaly I changed my MB, the old one couldn't be repaired because there is no reference about this toasted electronic part.

The computer works fine, but sometimes the keyboard works strangely. When I tape "e" the keyboard (sometimes) tape "eu". When I tape "u", "eu", same thing with "j" and "y".

Uefi is up to date, drivers too from Dell website.

    If someone has an idea.

    see you.

Have you made sure the ribbon cable is clean and reseated properly?

Could be an explication. The cable is well plugged, but i didn't clean it with alcohol, just with a tissue. I can do that during the week.

I am looking for a modded uefi. Also looking for an alternative to AlienFX to have more colors for the keyboard and others lights. Maybe I will find all I need in the forum (I haven't search yet).
