So I have heard that a couple of you had actual delivery dates far before your estimated delivery dates.
Because of this I figured it would be useful for people that already have recieved their systems to post what their EDD on their invoice / order status page and what their actual delivery date was.
Also it would be helpful to post which CPU, GPU, & LCD option that was chosen.
So please post the following:
Order Date:
EDD:
Actual Delivery Date:
CPU:
GPU:
LCD:
Country:
Thanks!

Any idea why Purolator indicates USA and up above it seems to be coming from Etobicoke,ON? I'm guessing they are assembled in the States. Sent from USA to Ontario (Etobicoke) and then to Montreal. Could be quite a journey! Let's hope it arrives before week's end! -

CPU: 6700HQ
GPU: 1060

Will update when received but the Oct 27 is looking pretty solid since FedEx has picked up.
BTW this is a US order, since country might be important for shipping times. -
So I got mine yesterday:
Order Date: Oct 14
EDD: Nov 7
Actual Delivery Date: Oct 26
CPU: i7 6700HQ
GPU: 1070 GTX
LCD: 4K Igzo IPS 15"
Country: Canada (Montreal)
First impressions:
SCREEN: I've got some minor light bleeding along to bottom row, but it's so uniform, I would probably have let it go. However, a the top is a different story, two large splotches across the top right starting from centre one about 3-4 CM the other more like 8CM. I'll try to post pics later. I will contact Dell about this after I've spent some more time with the machine. I also find the screen on the dim side. When they advertised 300 NITS I figured it would be bright. It was at max brightness in might bright office setting. I didn't need to go brighter but I couldn't if I had too. At home in a dimly lit room at night I had it at roughly 25%. Also, it is very high-res but doesn't "blow me away" in terms of quality. Still debating if I should have gone qith 1080P IPS and now I'm wondering if 1080P TN-WVA G_sync is a better option. I'm hoping to see some reviews soon and will call Dell to see what can be done.
SPEAKERS: Didn't test them out too much but they definitely didn't blow me away. Clear, but tinny for sure. At first I thought they might be broken, but I will continue to do more tests.
GOW4: Had to initiate a Windows Update to get the GOW4 download to work directly from the store. 80gb download and I set it to download overnight. Was still downloading on my 15/10 cable internet this morning (almost at 55GB).
The only game I ran was an old copy of Half-Life 2 I had. Max settings, 4K res etc. Ran very smooth (didn't have time to benchmark) however, the audio was staticy and slightly choppy wearing headphones (Sennheiser 558HD). I think this is more HL than the PC, but I will need to spend more time with it...
This was a 2 hour session last night while setting Windows up.
Thought I would share... -
Just an FYI don't be an idiot like me and post the carrier and expected arrival date in a public forum.

Just an update, if you take advantage of the 12 month no interest financing it might take longer. I was approved at a low interest rate but still had to wait 6 business days to get my agreement to even get my order processed. It has sat in processing this whole time with no updates or notice of any wait time. Only after i talked to customer service today and he said he was going to email dell financial to move my case up in line, did i get an update with my agreement etc through email. So im not sure if they are just backed up because of the new launch, christmas is coming etc. or just classic dell issues.
Anyways just thought i would mention if you use financing you might have an extra week or so wait time. -
Good luck -
Order Date: 03-Nov-2016
EDD: 15-Nov-2016
Actual Delivery Date: 10-Nov-2016 (expected!)

The EDD was originally 16-Nov-2016, then after extensive to-and-fro communication with Dell via email and phone, it was moved to 14-Nov-2016 and finally this evening I got a notification saying it'll be delivered tomorrow. I'm choosing not to bore you with details but given that so many people have had mixed experiences with Alienware products, I just hope that my laptop doesn't have refurbished components, bad hard drive sectors, defective memory or other defective/poorly tested hardware, given the unexpectedly rushed delivery. But that's pretty much it. -

to be fair their customer service is awesome ....wh compared to RAZER, or asus not used msi so dont know.... but there aren't many suppliers who offer on site repairs as standard I'll stick with them. -

The CPU temps was horrible! Had one core maxing out at 97-100c. Followed IUNLOCKED repasting with Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut now temps are running 20-25c less. Amazing difference.hmscott likes this. -

Mine still hasnt shipped, It got bumped again to dec 6. which would be 40 days from when i ordered. Talked to customer support again, totally useless. First she told me what everyone else did from earlier. That it was in the final stage and would be shipped within 3 days, and then i start pressing her for a supervisor, and she tells me now that when she looks its out of manufacturing and on its way to the shipping center. I dont know if she just told me that to get her off her back or what. Funniest thing is I was going to buy a fully specced out xps15 for my wife but now I will probably give my money to another company. I cant say enough how dissatisfied i am with Dell.
* Edit Order status says shipped now, so i hope its legit.Last edited: Nov 18, 2016 -
I got my replacement 15" R3 today with a better (not perfect, but acceptable) screen. The first one was exchanged due to severe light bleed on the 4K IPS panel, and although it had some uneven core temps, it never went passed 85C and hovered at 75 in gaming. This new one shuts down while gaming, bench marking, etc.. Like RIGHT AWAY. Ran some quick OCCT testing and in 2s, it hits over 95C and stops the test (cores are also uneven). It's useless.
What's with these guys (Dell/Alienware)? Do I try a third or just refund? Part of me is wondering if I should keep the first one (with really bad light bleed) it they maybe send me an external gaming monitor (although it will probably have light bleed!).
Any thoughts?

Another update, so still no tracking number. I called dell, and they said it was shipped, and he gave me a purolator tracking number. The number shows it had been shipped but was going to the wrong city. So i called back and a new rep said oh no they gave you the wrong tracking number... and that mine still hasn't shipped, yet i was notified it had been shipped on Friday. Dell has really made a good impression......

Placed on the Dell website. I find the customer service and lack of honesty worse than the wait.
-
Are you in the US? It appears that they straight up screwed your order up. There is no way that they should be taking 40 days and counting to get your order ready. My order was placed well after yours and it got to me in 7 days. I urge you to demand to talk to someone at Dell's highest level customer service.
-
Canada, Ive talked to about 20 different people now, getting transferred etc. Im just kind of over it. Funniest thing was i was going to buy my wife a fully specced out xps15 for her graphic design work etc. but i will look elsewhere now. I really like the build of the alienware, and i havent seen another company come close to it for the specs i want but man i have never experience something like this and i ran a computer shop for awhile dealing with rmas, returns, warranties for many many manufacturers, some have had bad service but this tops the cake.
Looking at day 27 tomorrow. -
Now after getting a your item has been shipped i just got this.
Thanks for choosing Dell. We have finished production/packaging and have begun the dispatch process with a courier or shipping company. For further details, please contact our Customer Support experts.
rofl what a company -

finally got a tracking number for them today, it says it will be here tomorrow. Hoping to get it and get some testing done this weekend. 29 days to get a laptop is pretty rough, especially with the run around ive had over and over.

Mechanized Menace Lost in the MYST
I just got my tracking number as well, but my delivery date says between the 23rd and 12/2 carrier IS FedEx Ground. I was told I was getting next day delivery, but Idk if that is the case now. I really hope so, because I stressed to the rep that I was leaving for a business trip on the 28th and he assured me it should be here before then.
Edit: Yay! My shipping updated and it will be here on Saturday!
