Hey guys, I have an Alienware 15R3 (7700HQ, GTX 1060, etc.) and I'm considering repasting my CPU, GPU, and heatsink but I'm thinking my temperatures that I'm currently getting aren't really bad enough to repaste.
For example, I'm currently playing Dragon Age Inquisition and the new Prey. While playing either for extended periods of time, MSI Afterburner shows my max core temperature going up to 75C, none of the cores go above that. The GPU temps hover around 60-65C. While using the Graphics Amplifier, the CPU temperatures hover around 65-70C.
Do these temperatures warrant a repaste? I'm not worried about screwing anything up, I do this kind of thing for a living. Should I do it just because? I'm just wondering how much better the temperatures could be if I repaste with liquid metal or something.

I wouldn't bother with those temps....
Can you get them better? Probably, but your not in a danger zone at all. Sooner or later because the Dell paste will dry up you will have to change it anyways so I would wait.SimplyJ3sse likes this. -
