These pages are nice because all of the old BIOS(s) will be contained here.
Some older drivers and BIOS(s) are often not listed on Dell's normal drivers and downloads page for the model.
Plus it also has all of the drivers on one page. I find it easier to look at. :)
I grouped these two together because they are the same generation.

I would like to thank @zergslayer69 Just cuz I wanna.
    lol! Shout out!
This should be stickied as it will be dynamic and is not about a specific driver or BIOS version.

i installed chipset and intel ME drivers from 15 r3 on my 15 R1 ... i was curious and it allow me to install BIOS too hahaha but no, i dont want to run the risk XD

they are using realtek drivers now, seems like no more soundblaster recon 3Di chip on the new models

free fall data protection sensor driver can be updated too

So many downgrades for putting a beefier GPU.

Soundblaster recon 3Di is not a true "Sound Blaster" card. Its actually just marketing hype and use of a "Sound Blaster" branded software suite that comes preinstalled.
Dell / Creative have been doing this with sound blaster as far back as the XPS M1710 well before Dellienware.
Not to say the software suite is bad, its just that the hardware is not going to be a downgrade per se.
There is not really a loss here.

Thanks @judal57. I won't be opening my AW until my warranty expires.

Sound quality is fantastic on AW15 R2 whilst connecting to my older Creative SB A35 speakers. The sounds are crisp and clear.

Why? Opening it doesnt mean the warranty goes invalid instantly. Just dont screw anything up or get a accidental damage warranty. :)
Repaste is highly recommended. Gelid! :)

I opened the back cover to put an ssd, but removing the back panel wasn't easy I had to resort to using business cards to lift the panel. Gelid is very expensive, probably I'll buy after some time. But, I do have Arctic Silver Ceramique 2 TIM which reduced the temps by 5C. In India, the room temp is always more.
I always used small pea method for CPU on desk/lap and bigger pea size for GPU. Is this method still good to use for modern chips or should I follow a Line method?

Today I installed Input driver and IRST of 15 R3 and everything went smooth. One issue is that, during a clean install of IRST 15.x, no GUI is installed on 15 R2. So, best method is to do a install over 14.8. Touchpad has less stutters in speccy(EC sensor problem) and its quite stable.

This page is great, Big up!

Question tho, how good is the Alienware Update app keeping up with the latest 17 R4 drivers
so you don't regularly need to keep an eye out for updates yourself?

If everything works for you w/o issues, no need to update. I tell this from experience, I usually grab what's new and next thing it breaks stuff I do everyday, so point in keeping updated drivers unless you have new game(s) for which driver was released!
