Ive done some searching, read things like using desktop mode battery charge, but thats done nothing, and i dont know why my laptop wont charge.

Ive just purchased it, (used) and it instantly dies if the plug comes out. ive tried using my M18X R1 power plug, (330w, same voltage, higher amperage) but it made no difference, i was hoping it was an adapter problem. ive freshly installed windows, drivers and all, and im not sure what to do.

I do require a BIOS update, and online i read somewhere that might fix it, but I require atleast 10% battery life to update it.

    Thank you in advance :)

The battery is bad, It will need to be replaced. The Current capacity can tell you that it currently holds less then a AA. I have had this happen on a few laptops where it will only have a little wear level but end up having a internal error in a cell and kill the whole thing.

Good test would be to unplug / remove the bat let it sit for a few min and plug it back in to see if a cycle will help. But to be honest I'm guessing its a bad bat.

From a Google search, the battery's supposed to be 14.8V. Perhaps one of the battery cells has gone kaput.

just for reference, i had a similar problem after a bios update..

i let the battery completely die, then hit f11 on bootup, ran diagnostics, saved, then went it bios saved, changed the desktop battery thingee you mentioned, saved, and it charged right up.

The voltage mentioned is indeed strange. FOr me when fully charged it gives 16v wear level of 5% after 2 years of use.

Mine is exhibiting the same issue. I uninstalled AW OSD and nothing helped. Even performed a power reset.
