This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Alienware 15: better value than Clevo/Sager?

    UPDATE: Microsoft is offering the Alienware 15 for 100$ off in their online store. With the added student discount, I could get it for $1530 CAD, which us about 1276 USD. This is with 4k screen, i7, 256GB SSD, 16GB RAM and everything.... Well, I hope I can add both savings up together :p

    EDIT: Turns out you can't combine the savings :'(

    Honestly, I barely even hear mine while gaming. It might be partially due to always using a cooler and being accustomed to a little fan noise. The cooler actually is more audible than the laptop..........

    You can also get a refurb Alienware for lot lower. I paid 1229 USD for mine with 970m.
