Hi NR forum, i got an Alienware 15 r1 and im curious about the Temps and Current limit throtting
    Mine has the
    i7 4720hq -.050 undervolt -.005 undervolt igpu
    Gtx 970m 3gb stock speeds
    16gb ram
    2 m.2 ssd and 1 sata 2.5 ssd
I feel my temps are way high , hitting thermal throttling at 93c under load cpu and gpu 70c, i changed in january the thermal paste to a coolermaster 25 i think, the point beeing its normal to hit those temps? and the current limit throttling how can it be fix?
thanks a lot and if u need some pics or more info i would do my best to provide it. Im thinking on going to a liquid metal thermal paste but not sure. My temps at idle 60c
    I got a pic of a stress test https://ibb.co/dWdvfe

You likely used the very cheap and bad thermal paste from cooler master. Go repaste your system again with:
    - ICDiamond or
    - Kryonaut or
    - GC Gelid or
    - MX4 or
    - Coolermaster mastergel or
    - promialitech TK 3

Thanks for the reply, i think it was a cooler master ice fusion but i cant remember if it was the pink one or the black one. Kryonaut gives the best temps out of all right?

Not quite. It depends on your expertise. Simply putting a blob won't cut it. Like DanBlunt said, choose either one which is available, Kryonaut or Mastergel maker or Gelid GC extreme. Do check if DC cable is burnt or not(black/brown marks in white plug).
@judal57 used LM conductonaut and replaced DC cable as well.

Ok i will order from amazon one of them, i think last time i open the laptop for cleaning i saw some brownish around the area where the keyboard and other stuff are connected, there was a white connector that seem a little burnout, what can cause this?

You need to replace that too. I think CPU pulls too much power that the wire can't provide/hold. If you're overclocking the gpu then you might need 230W adapter. @judal57 knows how to fix it.

Well it seems i got to order a dc cable then, i would like to overclock the gpu but i dont have premabios, i use this laptop for streaming at 720p and keeps working well but with a little oc it will be awesome, hopefully prema will make his bios accesible. If i only overclock the cpu i dont need the 230w adapter? now that i think about it when i use to overclock the cpu to 3.8ghz i got power limit and current limit so i guess i need 230w adapter

i replaced the DC jack cable and a lot of issues disappear, related to performance drops. for example the 800mhz throttle nerver come back
if you are relly good doing repaste, you can use liquid metal instead of traditional thermal paste.

And what version of bios you're using now? I'm using A00 casuse it has better fan profile but has a bug sleep when the system wakes from sleep and only runs max at base clock.
