    hi all, i want to buy a new pc but i am undecidet between a Alienware 15 or Alienware 17, i want also add Alienware amplificator for Gaming which one are best i hear about a thermal problem with Alienware 15 is fix it ? Sorry for my very bad eng

    There is a thermal problem on both the 17 and 15 inch models as far as I am aware.

    Hardware, the heatsink uses three screws to secure the heatsink, it seems to apply uneven pressure perhaps even a majority of the time. This causes one cpu core to be far far higher than the rest. Or sometimes one to be lower and the rest hotter. It's not going to be an easy fix.

    I see, dell are working for fix it or they don't care ? Maybe I need to waiting the next revision?

    They claimed they fixed it. But users just getting their machines now are still reporting the same issue. I find it unlikely they will revise the poor heatsink design. I think @Papusan was saying it's likely they'll try and do a firmware fix and I think I agree. Some users have consistent temps but it seems like luck, most are still pretty bad here and on reddit.

    wow is like lottery! Actually I'm not sure to buy new machine now, maybe the best choice is waiting a couple of month,

    in Italy is like miracle if you find msi and Asus laptop on Amazon, for now is not very urgently buy a new laptop I hopefully wait for dell fix thermal insure
