    I recently purchased a 15R3 with the 6820hk, 1070 and the UHD.

I got a good deal with some discount and that. Recently noticed there was a lump near the touch pad so I contacted dell informing them of the defect along with the cpu core temp difference. They said I will have to return it for a refund and repurchase. I did ask for a replacement or that they should honour the price I paid as it's not my fault it had a defect.. but no it's not there policy as it's a cosmetic defect.

If I repurchased it again it would cost me £150 more due to the price increases that have recently happened on the website.

Should I repurchase it and pay the additional costs?

Or an maybe purchase an 15R3 with the 6700 and 120hz screen for the same price I originally paid or 15R2 maxed out with the amazing UHD Touchscreen for a few hundred less? With monies going towards a GA

    What's your opinions guys?

The 6820HK has issues and always will. Just return it and repurchase the GSYNC model with the 1070. You'll be happier with that. No game will be bottlenecked by the 6700HQ.

That's my opinion. However, if I were you, I'd go to desktop and buy a cheap ultrabook for work/portability. Desktops offer much more flexibility and performance at lower prices. Alienware has a horrible history of warranty support, too.

True!! I use to have a gaming desktop 5 years ago, I was going to build one months ago because I grabbed my self a 6700k for £200 new then sold it when I decided to get a laptop. They go for £330ish now which is crazy..

Nah I wouldn't settle for that a defect is a defect cosmetic doesn't even come into it.

If it shipped with a "lump" next to the track pad this is totally their fault for poor QC

Get the claim escalated your entitled to an equal spec replacement or better. I've never had an issue with dell warranties myself they've always concluded issues to my satisfaction but some times you do need to escalate.
And do it on the phone not in "chat" or email.
