My Alienware 15 R3 is just 1 year old, and suddenly (after restart) the screen shows a pink vertical line and fast flickering.

The flickering gets less when I have dark things on my screen, but it starts when I put something light under the pink line of the screen. See video below (Flickering is not seen my camera, but it is really bad).

Hooked up an external display through HDMI and that looks fine, so I hope it is just in the display.
I have the SHARP LQ156D1JW06. (4K glossy no touche or G-sync).

Problem is now that in my country we have default 2 or 3 years warranty on laptops and PC's. But Dell is showing my warranty has expired. It is really hard to find what is the best way to contact Dell as they show way less contact way's (Can't make support tickets anymore, and now phone numbers other then the defaults).

Should I try to fight over warranty, and get the screen replaced by a dell repair guy that I need to pay ~€30,- + maybe the costs of a new screen as it is not under warranty.
Or should I replace the screen myself with the same screen or maybe there is a new/better version?

I have been looking at people with a AW17 replacing there screens, is there an advice for a great screen replacement for the AW15 R3?

Try turning self panel refresh off in the Intel GPU driver control panel. Had some weird flickering on reddish pictures. Some weird driver bug in combination with my panel. Also on the AW15R3.

I ended up sending the laptop for repair. Turns out the Dell site doesn't show warranty, but when you call they will say you have.

@rinneh Thanks for your advice. I did not try your test before I sent it. But I guess it will not work as I have the screen problems already during POST (Power On Self Test).

I guess Dell will replace my screen. Will give a final heads-up when I have it back.
