Well it is a lot, But I guess TN panels have that effect more then IPS.
Though you screen might by also under a bit of tension. Try bending the screen a bit to see if it has stress points, if so you could try refitting the screen in a way it has less stress applied to it.

Finally someone else with the same issue I was complaining about. This photo is of my Alienware 15r4 with the 120hz 5ms screen (same screen as you). The colors and contrast are horrible, it’s the worst screen I ever saw. My photo is of the computer on and it should be a completely black screen. In my photo which the iPhone also fixes some things so you can’t see it all. You see red, white and a bunch of other stuff on a screen that should be all black , no wonder it looks so bad normally.

They were gonna send me a replacement screen but i don’t trust their 120hz TN panels . I elected to send the whole computer back yesterday. I now have to wait till they credit my dell preferred account and then order the same exact computer again except I’m getting the IPS 60hz screen with g sync. I been playing on a 60hz screen all my life and with all my games I play set to max, i don’t need the 120hz screen. I’ll buy a external for that. I’ve been spoiled by my Samsung ks9000 4K Tv which with HDR blows you away . With the laptop hooked up to it , it really looks amazing. I’ll take colors and contrast at 60hz rather then total white out , no contrast and dull colors over 120hz everyday of the week .
