    Hi,

I recently switched to an Alienware 15 R1 from a MacBook Pro with Retina display due to certain work needs.

As you can imagine, this has been quite an adjustment, some good things, like the ability to add hard drives and some not so good things...this thing is heavy.

But my may problem so far has been the screen quality. So I was wondering if you know whether I can either upgrade to a 4K display, or simply change the stock display for a IPS panel, that would look similar to the Macbook Pro Retina display.

    Thanks for reading the post.

i have a 15 R1 too. the screen itself is really good, you can use the notebookcheck profile .icc or something like that to calibrate the display. look on aida64 under display setting to see if your model comes with LG or samsung panel.
i have seen UHD touchscreens on sale on ebay for the 15 r1 BUT i dont know if is going to work because the display need more pins for the touchscreen :S
