So anyone else have the issue that your using the laptop and all of a sudden the mouse pad just stops responding................the light still remains lit up but for some reason it just doesn't move the courser at all.

Ive tried different drivers and everything else i could but still no dice...

lucky for me my laptop is touch screen so i can manage but still gets annoying at times...

Is it when you are typing at the same time? There's a setting in the mouse pad drivers to diable it when typing, can't remember what it's called and I'm not at my system now, but you'll find it if you look!

I sometimes have it. When that happens, I press all my keys in the keyboard and move the touchpad like crazy, or press CTRL ALT DEL and it goes away. But I'd rather have a real solution.

This hasn't happened to me in awhile but my cursor would lock up intermittently for about 1-3 minutes and then act normal again.

Do your fans go on full blast while it locks up?

It normally does that on startup but the issue I was having was something different. It would just randomly lock up. I did some update and then all was well until recently all of my apps closed and my system restarted and did some giant update that i never told it to do which took an hour and now all of the issues i had came back.

if you have support assist from dell uninstall that because thats causing the full blast on each fan and causing a lock up. just install the support assist again when needed like when you have to diagnose a problem before calling dell support. just a suggestion.. LOL.. give it a try..
