    Dear Friends

I need your advice please!! I recently purchased an used Alienware 15 R1 laptop and immediately realized that there was something wrong with motherboard/video card. Hence sent it to Dell repair and got the mobo kit replaced. Now the laptop is back but I feel something is not right!! The problem I have is that when I minimize or maximize windows (ex chrome, IE or anything) the transition is extremely choppy. It looks like a 4 year old Android phone when toggling between apps! I have updated the graphics driver for both Intel HD 4600 and GTX 980m and still the window transition is extremely choppy. The specs are i7 4710HQ, 16GB Ram, 1TB Hard disk and UHD 4k screen. My 3 year old Clevo laptop has super smooth window transitions and the only thing on it that is better than my Alienware is the SSD. I ran 3DMark11 to check for graphics problem and the result was perfectly normal - got 10539. Even ran Metal Gear Solid V on UHD resolution with no problem. Can anyone please confirm if this jarring windows animation the normal behavior on a Alienware 15 UHD screen? If no, what do you think could be the problem?

    Please help!!!

    Regards

    Rangs

Thank you for that. Unfortunately that did not solve the problem. I decided to return the product to the seller and get a full refund! Just do not have the energy or the time to fix it on my own now!
