As tilted , i have an Alienware 15 R1 2015 but im getting some serious trouble right now .

I just upgraded to windows 10 a few weeks ago , before that my computer ran completely fine . After that , i also upgraded my BIOS from A02 (i guess) to A06 that alienware required on Windows 10 . Since then , i keep having trouble in games and normal use . I came accross the retailer and found no solution for this , but u guys may help me out somehow :( I really appreciate that .

    What i have : GTX 980M , i7 4710HQ , 8GB RAM.

What im experiencing right now :

    • I keep getting cursor freezing for 1-2 second , it happens not just only in-game but also in desktop , thats what im worry about . I noticed that is not the mouse or touchpad problem , but everything freeze , not too long but 1-2 seconds for many times and it is extremely very annoying .

    • Weird performance on graphic card : my example but pretty clear about what im trying to say : i always play CS GO on all low settings , the fan never had to run so loud that i can hear , it was so quiet because the setting was all low , i also not got any heat from the graphic card , now it getting hot very easily even when im playing low setting .
U guys may say thats normal , most of the tech engineer say this to me , but its not : i had never experienced this before i updated the stuffs . It was all good . I also do a comparison between my friend's Alienware 15 R2 running 965M . My friend run the same setting : My Alienware gets hot , freezes a few seconds every minute that i cant even play the game seriously , played on all low settings but the graphics card ran like i was using Ultra settings , the graphics card at highest performance / fan ran very loud but still having trouble / low performance in game .

    • Low / Drop Fps : I also run a comparison between my computer and my friend computer with the specs above on another game with the same settings : ie : The Forest : my friend got high and stable FPS above 60fps , no heat , running 965M . I got a low 25fps and keep dropping to 10-15fps .
    What i did :

    • I used recovery to get back to windows 8.1 : still having the same problem when the graphic card get hot .
    • I installed a whole new/fresh Windows 8.1 , still using the same BIOS : same problem.
    • I ran graphic card render test check : no problem with the graphic card , the card ran with normal performance.
    • I took it out for Dell but they found no problem running a few tests but i still having the same problem.
    • I installed all the latest graphics card driver , NVIDIA game ready driver.
    • I always run with the NVIDIA graphic card , not the onboard one.
Thats what i have and experiencing right now . I would really appreciate any help , any ideas from u guys , i just want it to be normal as before . thanks very much :)

    could be:
    1) i think is your HDD .... maybe things in background are hanging your hard drive ( if you have an SSD is another thing).
    2) look your intel HD driver and install the driver from Dell page an set windows 10 64 bits ... and later enter in device manager and make right clic on intel hd 4600 driver and select auto update. you need to see this
    [IMG]
    3) look your cpu package temperature and gpu temperature when you are gaming

You could look at you AV software, see if there are driver conflicts.

    1. Yes i have a SSD , i turn off almost everything when i play games .
    2. Im currently using Windows 8.1 , i went to the Intel HD graphics and found that i already installed 2016 update . Then i rollback the driver to 7/7/2015 10.18.14.4251 driver . But at that time i have no problem related to this . Im still having cursor freeze but less than the previous driver .
    3. im gonna take a look at that :(

I went to the link above but i cannot use that driver i think . Im currently running Windows 8.1 , i dont really want to upgrade then i look for the Windows 8.1 Intel Driver that is compatible with i7 4710HQ on this link : https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25978/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-15-36-?v=t . I installed and got an error message that the driver being installed is not validated with the computer even though im using i7 4710HQ ? Should i try the Windows 10 driver or is there anything else i could do ?
So im trying to uninstall those stuffs through DDU method , lets see if its gonna work . But i dont understand ''disable link state power management'' , Is it suppose to be turning off power management like the device never turn off after a while right ?

If you get this message, it's most likely because you're trying to install a 32-bit driver on 64-bit Windows. Make sure you download the 64-bit driver, and try again.

(I'm assuming that you have 64-bit Windows, which has been the Dell standard for a few years now.)

Make sure that the Optimus technology is working correctly. When it switches between the intel and nvidia GPU there is a pause. setting in the nvidia control panel that you prefer the nvidia gpu will, usually stop the pauses and its using the nvidia gpu and ignoring the intel gpu
