The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

I keep reading from various threads that AW is giving people a 240w power brick to resolve some issues. Is this something that is suggested and easy to swap from tech support? Please AW reps chime in. :)

If you are in the US, it should be pretty easy. There is a thread here that has a link to a support page. The day I got the laptop, I emailed them and told them that my computer is throttling when performing benchmarks. In a few days, they sent the power supply overnight mail. You do have to have the 980m though.

If you live in Australia or New Zealand, getting the 240W adapter is like getting blood out of a stone. Just isn't going to happen.

thetruth1983 is right. If you are in the U.S or Canada, our instruction is to replace them. You can even ask for it online. If you are outside those 2 countries, there might be different policies. My recommendation is to contact your local support about it. If you are in any of those 2 countries, send me a PM and I'll help you out.

Luis, I'm glad to still see you around these parts as of late. This community, and others like it, need people like yourself. The "Social Media" team appears to be dwindling among NBR.

We're trying hard to keep our coverage after Mark left, he was usually helping out a lot on these forums by listening and replying to some questions like I do.

You can imagine how hard it may be for a single person to handle the whole forum, it's infinite! haha.

One of my colleagues, @Alienware-Wasserman, has been helping out more recently on some of the boards.

We're looking forward to see our team grow soon (we are a small team handling all social media channels).

Thanks for your support to this community and the good thoughts about our job here.
