I have owned the Alienware 15 base model now for 4 months and wanted to leave a little feedback for those who might consider a lower end Alienware system. This is the I5 model with the 965M. Most of the attention on this forum is for the higher end systems.

I wanted a laptop that could play some of the current games (mostly RPGs) and did not want to spend a lot. My desktop is my main gaming machine. If I had listened to the comments on here, I would have missed out on a solid budget gaming laptop. I have played many of the current games including Witcher 3, Pillars of Eternity, etc. and have no complaints. I do not have to deal with all the BIOS and heat issues of the upper end systems either. I am still rocking A00 with no issues. The best part is only paid $700 at the outlet and it looks brand new and came with a full warranty.

Do not get me wrong. If this were going to be my main system, I would spring for something on the higher end too. But for those on a budget and wanting a solid machine for light gaming, the base model is a solid value with the outlet prices that come up occasionally.

Congratulations on your purchase ... With the price you paid I would say this is most certainly a nice deal :D

The key is to get an extra 25% or 30% off coupon on top of the outlet price. Alot of it is luck based on availability. The higher end ones sell out even faster.
