im new to laptop upgrading (level 1) and i just open my alienware yesterday because i need to unplug/plug the battery because of some minor static.

and i notice theres a extra space for 1 more ssd.
can i get that ssd (link above) for some extra storage and can i just plug and play that ?

i wanna put my steam there to free up my hard drive or some of my games to it can run faster..
i just wanna know if its a plug and play..
i just wanna use the new ssd for some extra storage thats all..im pretty happy on my alienware right now

Edit: Sorry. I didn't mean to necro an old thread.

I helped someone put that same M.2 form factor SSD in an Alienware 17 R2. For us, neither the computer nor the drive itself came with the needed M2 x 3mm screw.

Luckily had had one on hand (From a kit I bought from amazon with 156 Laptop screws).

Other than needing the find the screw, the install was dead simple or 'plug and play" like you say.
