    Hello,
My 5 year old Alienware 15 is just about falling apart and lately my keyboard and the GPU fan died. Only a few months ago, the internal DC cable died. A new keyboard and GPU fan are on their way and the DC cable was replaced, but I don't think the laptop has much life left.

I am thinking about cutting some plexiglass and turning my laptop into an all in one desktop. I will keep the progress updated here.

I do have one question though. Without firmware tweaking has anyone tried and successfully installed a 3.5" HDD on this machine? I mean if I am going to turn this into a desktop, and as long as the flexible SATA cable can reach (and provides enough power), I am probably going to replace the 2.5" HDD with 3.5" HDD.
