    Hi all!

I have my Alienware 13 for about 9months now.
I always considered the battery to be quite bad, as windows only shows me 2-3h max runtime, even when I tweaked a bit (screen brightness 50%, power savings, no gaming)
But I always see people saying that their battery lasts at least 5h!
So I'm not sure if there's something wrong with my battery, or does the alienfx consume as much as the whole system??

Did anybody else had any issues? Or are those 5h+ fantasy, and the battery does last 2h only?

    Cheers

Yep, I even have the nvidia icon in the notification bar, to check when it's using the gforce. It's basically always on integrated.

Dell only gives a 1 year warranty for batteries even if you have the multi year warranty plan (someone else please confirm this). If its a battery problem, I would suggest you get it replaced before that 1 year ends

Hmmm...I wonder how I could confirm that.
So as far as I hear, it is uncommon that my battery only lastst 2-3h, and that it should last longer in normal non gaming use.

I recommend you to check the battery wear level in HWinfo64.

    http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/uscorp1/solutions/limited-hardware-warranties

    Search for "batt"

"As part of standard portable configuration, batteries carry a base 1-year limited hardware warranty regardless of the length of the system warranty. In addition, for some products, a customer has the option of purchasing a battery that comes with a 3-year limited hardware warranty."

After doing a system test on boot up (f12), my battery lists now 5h20m on 98% charge..... o_O
No idea why the duration now doubled, never saw that since I got it.

It all depends on the amount of things running in the background. I've always seen anywhere from 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 hrs.
