Dell showed off an alienware 13 with a damn OLED panel on CES. If this comes to Alienware 15. I'll Sell my Alienware 15 and get a new one the next itteration, hoping nvidia will also come with new GPU's.

Damn finally OLED technology on laptops. SO happy. And apparently Alienware was not the only one showing off OLED panel on laptops.

Edit: Apparently dell didn't show of the laptop with the OLED panel, but announced the Alienare 13 will feature an oled panel later this year. At least it's something.

Now if the GPU is upgraded to at least a 965M, possibly 970M, it would be a killer portable machine.

too bad oled still has burn in issues. My galaxy s6 phone had it whitn 6months of use. Also brightness wears off after some time so I feel oled is still not ready for long term usage.

They are saying same specs as current model but with OLED option.
    Speculated release April/May.
I was very interested until I seen the EVGA SC17 now that will be my next system based on what I am seeing.

I agree. The 960m is already in so many non gaming laptops that it feels like a total let down. The 965, although not leaps and bounds better, would still give credibility and allow the user to be faster than the "not exactly gaming laptop" guys. I doubt they could shoehorn a 970m in there and for cooling sake, not sure if you'd even want that, but the 965m I think is good enough when you factor the amplifier.

Yeah i agree it should at least have a 965. but a 970 should be possible. If the razer blade with such a thin chassis can do it the 13 with the thicke rbetter cooled chassis should do too.

    Yes, the Aw13 need a 970m. Other brand have a 13/14" laptop with 970m. I'll buy the Aw13 with OLED + 970m.

It'd be better if a better quad-core CPU option gets in the 13 first before a higher-tier GPU.

The 15 R2 and 17 R3 don't have a QHD option. Only FHD and UHD.
Only the 13 has QHD (and QHD+).

Didn't realize that thanks. Still cool to see OLED, did they announce if its only for 13 or all models? It would honestly be nice to see if they gave the 18'' a screen refresh, even though its not too shabby. Bring back the 17r2 RGBLED.....

Right now it's only for the 13 R2. All the OLED screens presented at CES were for small laptops (12" to 14").
That said, it wouldn't surprise me that Alienware would want to bring OLED to the bigger laptops. When, though, is the question.

Hey guys, I'd like to see OLED screens on the 15 and 17 but maybe next year, one thing I did noticed at CES 16 was the push of external graphic boxes like the one from Alienware. Previously the only PC OEMs doing it were MSi and Alienware but now Razer and Asus are on board with their own boxes, I think this is an important shift, heck it might even be the end of an era, maybe the bye bye to heavy-and-chunky-gaming-laptop era since these new boxes are using the new USB type C port which might mean these boxes can be connected to lets say a XPS13.

I've been wondering the same...if and when they decided to release the OLED for the 15 and 17, will it be within Q1 or Q2 of 2016? I wonder....

Right now I'm needing to buy a new laptop. AW 15" or 17" w/ Skylake (i7), 980M and UHD.

Should I wait it out or go for the newest models available now. ....hmm...

Whats most exciting about this in my opinion is the response times. Finally something good enough for pro gaming :)
