Currently have the 1080p model. Was wondering if I am able to get an entire assembly for the Oled would it be as easy as replacing it, or are the connectors different?

You would need entire assembly. OLED panel has no Plastic Bezel (glass edge to edge) and thinner because it is touch screen.

i dont think it will work. as a example my 15 R1 1080p use 30 pin lcd conecto. and the touchscreen variant use a 40 pin conector. someone did it and the touchscreen work but the display dont have image. you should start by asking how much pins use each version. and dont forget that you will have to pay Dell for that display and is going to cost you a kidney.
this trick make me feel better http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/overclocking-60hz-display-successful.814570/
now i am using my 1080p display at 90hz
