I just order an Alienware 13 r3 OLED and I purchase it with windows home because I already have a key for windows professional and have a spare Samsung 1tb 960 pro laying around in the house.
Is changing the original 516 SSD that is included with the laptop to secondary and my main of course would be a Samsung 960 pro will I have any problems doing this?
And to reformat I heard from someone on a forum that I need to download the intel rapid storage drivers and extract the drivers to your thumb drive with bootable windows 10 usb drive and then you will be able to select the driver for the SSDA and it will show up and you can format it." I wanted to make sure if that is correct.
And last thing, once I reformat I heard the OLED drivers little tricky. What do I need to do to install the drivers for it?
Sorry for all the questions, just I usually build my destkop and never had a pre build machine or an laptop.
Thanks so much!!!

Download the drivers from Dell directly except your Nvidia, Intel GPU drivers. You can switch to Samsung and remove the original one before installing Windows. Unless you are intending to RAID the dual drives, I'd say use AHCI since a 960 pro has 3gb read and 2 gb writes and with RAID you will see similar results too.
You can format the second drive after windows is installed. -
I’m in the process of doing the same thing and honestly if it’s possible you’re better off cloning the disk over. Doing a fresh install is a colossal pain in the ass as the recovery software Dell has on their website does not work at all.
After fighting with dell for hours they finally shipped me the correct reinstallation media and it took all of 10 mins to go from a pair of unpartitioned drives to in Windows with all drivers plus the imaged recovery partition.
The only other way besides this is to start from scratch using the Windows media creation tool and that takes forever plus you lose your recovery image.
