I might be spoiled comming from a macbook pro retina with a fantastic touchpad... but the performance of the alienware 13 touchpad are really bad...
sometimes during or before even trying to scroll up and down with two fingures gesture on the touchpad, doesnt seem to respond or stop working during the slide... its like a matter of luck when the touchpad wil let you scroll up and down and when not.... same goes for pinching with two fingers for zooming in and out ?

Is this a drivers problem or this is as far as it goes rouchpad wise ???

I installed the driver from Dell's website the day I opened my AW13, and it seems marginally better, but I'm still having basic two finger scrolling problems. I'm also coming from an Apple notebook (MacBook Air 13) and the touchpad on the AW13 just infuriates me.

Please see the Tips thread for more info on using the touchpad / trackpad. (T-pad)

Windows 8.1 uses the two-finger slide gestures, as well as slide from side T-pad gesture detection for bringing up the side menus left and right. Therefore, you may want to practice not putting your palm of your hand on top of the touchpad.

You can turn off the gestures in the PC settings. I can only let you know that the T-pad is super sensitive to any fingers (up to 2) / objects on it, which is a good thing if you're down with T-pad gaming.

well , it seems that in internet explorer ( that hardly anyone ever uses) the scrolling and zooming in and out works perfectly...
but in google chrome... only scrolling works ( but the animation of scrolling doesn't slide smoothly like in explorer).

any ideas why in internet explorer the scrolling and pinching works flawlessly but in google chrome its ? :)

That link takes you to an Internet social event called , "I'm [some team], Ask me Anything!".

The team is the Internet Explorer developers, the IE you hated so much about.

In the "Ask me Anything!" thread, the users who are in blue are the IE development team members. All the other people are asking questions about what the team members do, opinions on the IE hate, discussions about the future of IE and all other things that are worth reading.

You need to read up on some of the answers the IE development team members said about IE, and what they are trying to do to solve the issues even you wanted them to fix as well.

It's not only helpful for you, but also you don't absent-mindedly go along with the IE hate train, which is bad unless you know exactly why IE is bad for you.

This is the recent trends that is shifting towards on the Internet, meaning people are now hating others who are hating on something without any legitimate reasons why they should be hating on that thing. And you don't want to be those people.

And then after you finished reading them, whether you hate IE or not, it's up to you to decide.

    Hence the hint.

I bought an AW13 myself, but not with the touch display. I, personally don't think that a gaming laptop should have a touchscreen. It just doesn't.. fit, you know? Maybe they focused more at the specs and the gaming related stuff instead of the touch screen? I don't know..

Personally, I like the touchscreen. It makes the screen smoother and make the colors pop. We don't have to touch the screen at all, I think it just makes the laptop look cleaner.

This is coming from a person who owns Alienware 13 i7 Broadwell 1440p.

Yeah, I thought about getting the touch-screen one, because it has a better resolution and overall better screen. But the price wasn't too ideal for me. I haven't heard too much good things about the touch screen. Only thing I thought was good on it was the i7. I really wanted that, because of the Alienware Graphics Amplifier and I would run a premium card. And it could occur a bottleneck with the i5
