    Been fairly active on the Alienware subreddit, thought I'd share my results here as well.

    I'll be trying a copper shim soon and will update with my results. It's also important to note that if you prop up the back by even a 1/4 of an inch you'll see a noticeable difference in temperatures.

    Nice work. Propping up the back has always made a big difference on Alienwares, I had hoped with the side intake vents this would no longer be needed but I guess you can never have too much airflow

    good job, the only thing is that i think that the voltage of the processor is too high ... try making an undervolt using intel xtreme utility tuning ... .-120mv on core and cache should work fine :) and can improve more the temperatures ... nice to see the 13" model naked ...

    6700hq often undervolts as low as -185 stable. Both mine and a few others has managed that :) Use throttlestop, not xtu :)

    Can really appreciate the more convenient teardown approach for the 13. Don't need to remove mobo to get fan plugs underneath
