    type i meant 13 not 15.....Are you able to disable the gpu by pressing FN + F7? oled (7700hq version). Im going to buy it very soon but i need to know before i buy it

    Are you able to toggle off the gpu with FN + F7? if you can or can't ...do you have the oled or ips.

    Hi, the ability to use optimus and enable or disable the dedicated GPU is nothing to do with the CPU. It is influenced by whether the panel display supports GSYNC or not. The 4K display you have mentioned does not which means your configuration will have optimus and will therefore allow you to enable or disable the dedicated GPU

    To add to his point, the 2k (you might have thought about the 4k display on the 15 inch model) screen which is the OLED is different. It has nothing to do with the CPU, and it's true it is not gsync. However, You will not be able to toggle the GPU s using fn +f7, but the system does support optimus. It is possible to manually turn off igpu using device manager, but you loose brightness control that way.

    you dont need G sync on a 1ms response monitor

    Ofcourse you can use gsync. It has nothing to do with response time or input lag. But removing tearing with non vsynced games. You still get tearing with oled.
