Fixes & Enhancements
[BIOS]
-Add an ACPI device for Intel OLED driver.
-Extend T3 delay to 700ms for special request of all panels.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well the OLED display is coming soon. But the changelog has me a bit worried what this update will do.
-
Well I updated to the BIOS a bit, and found a couple of things related to the Graphics Amp.
- eGPU runs at the usual PCIe 3.0 x4, so that's fixed.
- USB ports don't send data to computer, but they do power the USB devices. Not good.
Also, something interesting I found out. You cannot flash a BIOS if you are connected to the Graphics Amplifier (as an eGPU). It'll just reboot and cancel out the operation, acting as if nothing happened.Last edited: May 9, 2016 -

What is your preferred bios version on the 13r2? -
I'm currently using 1.2.7. I would use 1.2.0, but for some reason (and I know it shouldn't happen), the GA runs at PCIe 2.0 x4. This BIOS came when Alienware released an update to the Command Center and the BIOS for all three laptops to have the GA run at PCIe 3.0 x4.
I had no problems with 1.2.8, though. I did notice the RAM options were still missing in 1.2.13. I just want the XMP profiles to work.Last edited: May 9, 2016 -

I tried the bios that was posted in the other thread that was pretty old and my laptop ran really bad, sound cracked and popped, slowed to 2-3 minute boot up process, very sluggish. I am back on the original bio level it came with. I can't remember off the top of my head as I'm on the road right now. I wish Alienware would get there **** together.
