Just thought I would let everyone know that the early model Alienware 13's with the 1440p QHD touchscreens can be upgraded to the later model 1800p QHD+ touchscreens with no issue. I found a brand new genuine Dell screen assembly for the AW13, it installed just the same as the old panel and works exactly as it should.

Heres the exact panel I got:

Most likely the 768p panel is swappable to the 1080p panel without issue as well, I did that on my Alienware 14 too. I would even be willing to bet that you could swap a touchscreen panel into a non-touch screen model and it would work fine. Its probably a good idea to update your BIOS before swapping screens.

One thing to note, on the QHD panels the front bezel and panel are glued together since its touchscreen. You might be able to buy a QHD+ panel and glue it onto the old bezel(like with iPhones), but I have no idea if that would work. The lid and front bezel can be swapped out easily however. Do note that the webcam height on the non-touch and touch panels is different, so you will need to re-adjust it if you have a non-touch model and swap to a touchscreen panel without getting a matching lid.

Infact if someone is interested in seeing if QHD touchscreens will work in the 768p or 1080p models I have my old QHD panel that still works perfect, that i'd possibly sell.

I can provide pictures of all of this stuff, just doing a quick writeup while im at work.

The specs on my alienware 13 that I upgraded from 1440p to 1800p are:
    i7-5500u
    GTX 860M
    16GB RAM
    512GB + 180GB M.2 SSD's

Thanks for the insights of the upgrade process. I'll save it in case anyone asks me in the future. :)
