I recently bought a Alienware 13 refurbished off ebay with the i7-5500u, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD, GTX960, 1440p touchscreen, ect.
However when the screen is really cold(40 - 50F) it will behave as seen in the video.
Once the computer has run for a minute or two the issue goes away. Its not a huge issue right now, but I would like to understand why its happening if possible.
I have a SSD coming in the mail, once it gets here ill be doing a fresh install of windows 10 and all drivers, as well as updating the bios. Given that this issue only shows when the screen is cold, it makes me fear that it is a hardware issue rather than a software issue.

I am afraid it is a hardware issue. Something with the cables inside your screen. The heat might give the cable more space to function correctly. Might be a grounding issue.

I ended up starting the return process for the laptop. Wireless card drivers are crashing regularly now and I cant even update the BIO's because the motherboard isnt recognized by the installer.
Will be buying a brand new Alienware 13 or Alienware 15 from Dell.
