I recently replaced the hard drive of my Alienware 13 laptop and figured I may as well clean it up some, since I've had it for a year and a half. I really want to clean out the fans, since I'm sure there's all sorts of dust and junk stuck in there. The only problem is that the only way I've seen to clean the fan is to get really hands on and essentially take apart most of the laptop. This laptop wasn't cheap, and I'm nervous about disassembling it that much, since it seems likely that I'll find some way to ruin it.

Is there an easier way to clean the fans? Can I just do it with compressed air? Or is disassembly the only way?

Never spray compressed air into the fans while the fans are running.

I just hope Dell comes up with tool-less back panel removable system so that end users find it easy to maintain their lappies which also helps in keeping peak performance of the system.

I blowed isopropyl alcohol at full.spin because it evaporates quickly... The compressed air form something like ice.... And I don't know if.this is.good while spinning

Another thought I had was to take a shop-vac and vacuum up by the fans. Could this work?
