Firstly YES I'm doing a lazy post. I have been reading but yowza info is all over the place!
Random order questions based in part on my location in Malaysia:
- coupons... last I was doing this they were common. Is the best recourse now chatting up a sales person online?
- warranty... anyone know the retail price of 3yr onsite w/accident cov? Asia is unique or used to be in that retail shops are where many buy - but you cannot add extended warranty at point of purchase. This means no bundled pricing like you might get online.
- palmrest.... gets messy? Love the feel of it but not sure over time how it would be (and pics are few)
- CPU/GPU.... the real story on any improvement by maxing system. I'm pushing for i7-5500U+GTX 960M but if might be able to save a little by dropping to 5200/860. Much I read tries to paint no advantage w/960 but sounds a bit like sour grapes sometimes.
- External screens... I had 3 running on my M11x, will both ports on AW13 be active for TWO screens?
- SSD... I have no issues with hardware swaps or following directions just havent messed with SSD yet and my tech is outdated. When upgrading, what tools are you using to migrate system? The one provided via backup in windows? USB stick from Dell? I would likely only do this later.
- SSDcont.... if swapping in a traditional SSD (or hybrid?) then you are done right? No more options. If however its the SSD offered via Dell you can add a second drive to the carriage based on M.2? Guessing then if wanting THAT option I'll have to get a carriage from the marketplace seperately?
A big BIG component is the warranty. I'm not settling for 1 or 2 years and it must be onsite - no depot or service center. The non AW models from Dell don't really offer much on the GPU from what I'm finding. This leaves my pref for alienware since HP also lacks options. UNLESS the 860M can get it done for 3-4 years.
Currently using XPS14 L401x for my gaming since the GPU gave out on my M11x so I'm sure the 860 is an upgrade.
I'm rambling. Thanks for reading.

Not only posted to wrong section but I just committed myself to the i7-5500/960 combo. Couldnt add the SSD without screen "upgrade" but can sort that later. Should have it in a week+
About to buy AW 13... could use input
