    Hi all

My first AW so really excited. I've opted for the stock 5400rpm 1T HDD and planning to add in a 2nd SSD drive . I haven't done much research on SSDs before and saw this at Egghead...will this work?

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148820

From AW videos, it seems a fairly task but I want to make sure. So once I have the drive on hand,

    i) Remove 2 screws from back cover
ii) Slide and remove back cover
iii) Insert SSD drive in 2nd bay (will new drive come with mount/screws??)
iv) Put back cover on and screws
    v) Change boot order making SSD primary device
vi) Use recovery disk (USB) to install OS back on SSD Drive
    v) Format original 1TB drive (blow OS away)
vii) Voila..open up bottle of wine and claim it's so easy even a caveman can do it?

    Thanks!!

I do not think you can add two 2.5" drives in the new Alienware 17r2. You only have an option of four M.2 SSDs and one 2.5" drive.

    Thanks guys! Appreciate it.

Ordered the 256GB SSD drive. Also, called AW/Dell and the screws are $2 (4 pack). Tech support was able to mail it out for free.

If anyone's interested, screw part number is ==> D837T

    Cheers!
