Can someone with a 17 6820HK do a quick benchmark for me?

I cant seem to find a HK vs HQ with the same GPU. I want to simulate the 6700HQ vs the 6820HK with the same GPU. This is to see how much of an increase the HK is over the HQ.

If you could run two different game benchmarks of your choice. we want to emulate the HK vs the HQ using the following two system settings on your machine.
    1. go into the bios and set the system to OC3 mode. (this will enable the alienware 4.1 OC)
    2. on the 2nd run of benchmarks return the system's bios back to normal mode and use intel extreme tuning utility to dial the cpu down to 3.1GHz on all cores. ( this will emulate the 6700HQ performance levels)

    Thanks alot.

Stock for stock - the 6820HK is around 10-15% faster and allows for OCs whereas the 6700HQ is locked. OCs, however, vary wildly with some people getting 4.2GHz and others struggling with 3.8GHz

yeah I know if heavy cpu tasks its faster for sure, but I would like to know for games how many frames we talking?

Depends on the GPU - with a 1060 - probably the same. With a 1070 - probably about 10% more.

Id like to quantify that. My friend has an 15 inch Aorus with the HK and the 1070. he actually gets better FPS with the HK down clocked to 3.1HQ speeds. Due to lower cpu temps his GPU boost clocks higher. Id like to see the AW17 try this because i believe the cooling on the AW17 to be better than the aorus.

Bad cooling isn't a valid reason for performance compromise.
