    Hi

    My AW15R3 comes with a 120Hz TN+WVA Anti-Glare 400-nits NVIDIA G-SYNC Enabled screen.

I am thinking of swapping it out for G-SYNC IPS screen for comparison.

So wondering for those with G-SYNC IPS Screens on their AW15R3 or AW15R4, if you can let me know the part and model number of your screens as shown in e.g. hwinfo

Looking across UK & US Dell site, I think there are 3 flavors:-
    15.6 inch FHD (1920 x 1080) 60Hz IPS Anti-Glare 300-nits NVIDIA G-SYNC Enabled
    15.6 inch FHD (1920 x 1080) 60Hz IPS Display NVIDIA G-SYNC Enabled
    15.6 inch UHD (3840 x 2160) 60Hz IPS Display NVIDIA G-SYNC Enabled

    Real appreciated

    thanks

I have had both and done a comparison side by side on Reddit. The 120Hz display is by far the superior display. You might get a little more colour accuracy but if you do any gaming (which, if you got an Alienware, that's likely your prime focus) you will want to stick with the TN. The only angle that it really washes out at is from below but side and top angles are great.

Main reason for purchase was for work where I need something semi mobile, multi ssd/hd storage and great as a server for multiple VM's. The only gaming I am doing on it is for Oculus VR where I can't appreciate the superiority of the screen. I find I am always having to adjust the angle of the lid frequently when changing from between standing and sitting positions looking at the screen, something not an issue with my old XPS/macbook pro. This is why I would like to swap out the screen for an IPS panel
