Does anyone have the newer 15R3s with the 1070 OC vBios? If so, would you be willing to upload the newer vbios?

There was never any OC vbios for 1070 AFAIK.

It is available for 17R4 1080 which increases power limit from 150w -> 180w.

Also creates a lot of stuttering problems due to the VRM overheating.

It's shipping on the new 15's but Alienware isn't releasing it. Unless someone pulls it off a new machine and uploads it there won't be any release for people to download.

Weird, on my 6820HK / GTX 1080 Board , using the 65W heat sink (xD) , i have 0 stutters playing games like Dota 2 / Overwatch and CS:GO. I did however lock the Clocks to < 1600Mhz, at least until the beefier heatsink gets delivered.

You can hard flash a modded 1070 VBios. But you need a SPI flasher and a SOIC Clip.
    Results are quite impressive:

You have micron memory on GPU. There are known issues on micron. Try asking Dell to swap with Samsung memory on GPU.

Looks like you have the updated Vbios with Micron Memory Timing fix.
    The beta version was 86.04.54.00.1C

How did it not overheat? Did you disable the turbo on CPU at the same time?

1600Mhz can be achieved with less than 0.800mV, resulting in an average Max 105W Power Draw.

So I am now safe? I noticed my GTX1070 does perform well in games. Battlefield 1 I get around 90FPS with 125% scaling on

I'd still be kinda scared to do that lol.

There is no need to set resolution scaling above 100%.

Yeah CPU turbo is disabled. And both CPU and GPU are making out at 87-89C.
Pads are stock, only replaced the thermal paste with Kryonaut for now.
Beefy heatsink comes in tomorrow woohoo.

HeHe. First TRIPOD with the missing leg, PCH chips with missing heatsink, almost none USB ports, cheapo ssd's. Amazing you still can find a MB inside the chassis :D

Yeah i dont even understand, why there are 3 different heat sinks. Just to save a tiny bit of money by taking out 1 heat pipe. (and one fin stack?)
Clevo is starting to walk the same path with the new KM1 VC HS.

Weirdly enough that Tripod has better contact than my stock DM3 heat sink.

That is true , but meant it in terms of pure contact and the mounting pressure.

    Bought the 17 R4 - 7700HQ / 1060
    Swapped out the motherboard to a 6820HK / 1080.

As BGA is bare die, the precision aka pressure and fits must be good. Otherwise you could kill it with sloopy fits/pressure. More headroom for bad fits with the lid on.

So two AWs and 2 Clevo's and anything else? Are you thinking of making Razer Project Valerie 2.0 with different resolutions?

I really wish that Clevo has a bare die mounting option.

Increasing heatsink quality to fit the Intel IHS isn't financially/technically sound to Clevo, seeing as how they're struggling currently with bad QC.
