I recently purchased an AW15 with matte 1080p display (Samsung) from Newegg.
I noticed that the screen seems to dither a lot and have little dots even when display solids colors. For example, the grey bar on top of Wikipedia website has a lot of horizontal bands with little dots running through it.
Even the drop shadow on the edges of windows in Win10 seem to be sorta rough and not smooth.
Also the screen seems a bit dim even at 100% brightness and with adaptive brightness turned off. Should it be dimmer than a MacBook Pro or iPad Mini 2?
Is this dithering normal? If not, do I have in-home warranty from dell even though I purchased it from Newegg? Would a technician be able to swap out a screen if this is indeed not normal?

its a 6bit panel, almost all 6 bit panels have those artifacts. But the AW15 fhd i have is pretty bright. But an Ipad mini 2 has a brighter screen. It should be around the level of a Macbook pro retina which has a 300nits screen.

Thanks. To be sure, even on this website, do you see little grey dots in the slightly purple background of this thread?

I dont have that. but I have a LG panel in my FHD AW15. I only have banding in gradients on various websites or for example in Steam on the background.
