    AW13 R2 BIOS A07 and AW15 R2 & AW17 R3 BIOS 1.2.8
    Fixes & Enhancements
    [BIOS]
    -Update ePSA 4300.21
-Set Standard Charge as setup menu default
    ----------------------------------------------
Side note: Alienware needs to keep one BIOS code name for the 13 R2. They keep going back and forth with 1.X.X and A0X (though they have 1.2.8 as the file name, so I don't know).

So they finally realized xpress charge reduces battery life, now they set it to standard charge.. and any update on alienware 15 R1 bios, its been stuck with A06 for quite sometime with bad MEI firmwares and fan table, sep 2015 was the last update...

Even after I flashed mine Quick was still selected in the BIOS. I had to set it to Standard.

Very doubtful the first revisions (second for the 17) will be getting an updated BIOS anytime soon.

Can you flash to an older BIOS to see if you can again?

If you have a 950 Pro NVME drive I would not update to this bios. It cripples the speeds according to Samsung Magician. Flashed back to 1.2.7 and back to normal.

Just going to copy-paste this from the 13's owner's lounge. @Alienware-L_Porras, if you could please forward this to the engineering team, that would be great.
"In BIOS 1.2.7 and 1.2.8 (A07), the keyboard, after the laptop is put in sleep, cannot "rapid fire" keys that are held down. BIOS 1.2.0, however, doesn't have this problem. Not sure if 1.2.2, the version my laptop shipped with, has the problem too. Probably a good idea for someone to check.
The only way I know of to restore the rapid fire is plugging in a USB device."
EDIT: Never mind. BIOS 1.2.0 is also affected by the slow repeat rate after sleep.

Seems in the graphics amp thread someone just posted that in 1.2.7 and 1.2.8 the scores are lower than older bios. Guess it's time to revert.

No it isnt. A06 for the AW15R1/AW17R2 is the latest for your model.

Thats unfortunate as of recently im experiencing heavy fps drops for a second or so while playing any game and after that the fps never recovers fully. For example while playing dota 2 the game starts at 110 fps after some time it drops to 30 for a sec and then it goes back up to 90 after another 20 mins or so it drops to 30 again and then goes back up to 70.

From what I observed so far the laptop stops charging for this second when the fps is low ( the power button "skull" turns yellow). So i was hoping a new bios might fix it but....

Very strange, sounds like a real issue to be honest.
