    I was having the same problem. When I phoned Alienware support, they immediately said they would exchange the laptop, without making any effort to repair it. It looks as if this could be a sign of something more serious. My 17 R3 was delivered with 1.2.8

    I had that issue too, I'm gona say (as some people have figured out) it's just that drive. I have had no such issues with my 950. Only on BIOS 1.1.0 (better fan profile IMO) I had a reboot no drive bug. On any later BIOSes that bug went away.

    My video gtx card sometimes disappears from the bios too--after installing windows updates or device drviers. anyone else with this issue?
