I received an email this morning from AW and after a closer look it looks like false advertising to me. They advertise the AW15 to come with a 980M, 4710, and Full HD (1920 x 1080) screen for $1599 . But when you click on that add to "build yours" and add it to your cart you don't get what they advertised.....you end up with a AW 15 with a 970M, 4710, and a UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS-Panel TrueLife Touchscreen display.

If you try to configure the AW 15 that they advertise.....its well over $1900. Either Im not reading it correctly or their add is messed up.

Those are featured options. It means that we encourage you to get those at the POS. However, the deal is for the configuration you get when you click the link. I'll sen dyour feedback to the team in charge of that. They may not be aware that it might be confusing to some customers.

Thanks for the response. The part that is confusing to me is according to that ad, I can get an AW 15 with a 4710 & 980m for $1599 but no matter how I try to add it to my cart its way over that price.

Featured options should be listed as recommended configurations and the price listed as starting at.

They really need to work on their ads... haha

Just another reason to stay away from Alienware.

I still find their machines far more interesting than anything HP have produced ever ;)

I don't know that I would go that far, I just thought they got creative with their wording and could lead to someone getting a laptop that is not as good as they thought.
