    Hi,

First of all... HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone and thanks for all the help you provide for alienware users!

    Im currently using the AW17 r4 1080.

When ever i start steamVR the 1080 only clocks at 1558MHz.
Temps are between 55°C and 60°C. So its not an thermal issue.

Also the steam performance test says, thats its NOT VR capable.

I dont have this problem with any other game.

Tried various drivers. Nothing seems to work.

    Any solution?

Go to nvidia control panel > power management > maximum performance for the steamvr app.

Updated drivers and firmware? Have you checked if TDP throttling is occurring? GPU-Z can tell you the performance cap reason.

Searching the nvidia forums i found that desktop cards had the same issue with some drivers in July. It got fixed.

Unfortunately nvidia uses different drivers for pascal and pascal mobile. So I cant use the fixed desktop drivers.

What makes me curious is that noone took notice before me.

Or is it just a problem with my specific unit? Dont think so. Im not a total pc noob. :)

It would be helpful if someone could check their 1080 clocks while using steamVR.
