    Hi all, another unfortunate AW 15R2 owner where dc-in cable melted the access panel at the back of the machine.
    Computer was bought in 2015 as present to a boy who passed his exam.
    It was used very lightly for games mostly during holiday times and restricted during school time.
    Just over two years and out of warranty the symptoms in chronological order:
    - started overheating;
    - flickering screen and battery not charging and charging and not charging
    - BSOD with code 21A
    - sometimes in between a melted bubble on the access panel.
    -BSOD with WHEA_hardware error.
    -
    Sent to DELL, stating MoBo, DC-IN cable and case panel needs replacing at cost of 1600 pounds with 30% discount to 1100 pounds.

    Searching on Internet I see this is a defect and as such should be repaired with no charge. combination of faulty dc-in cable and MoBo drawing too much power from other posts. Seems R2 15s and 17s affected with someone measuring 110 C temperature on that cable.

    Please, post the cases that you area aware of including a link to discussion, that would be very helpful.

    I strongly recommend to take photos of both the bottom panel, the cable and other problems and contact [email protected] & [email protected]

    I second @rinneh . Take some photos an contact support (post them here as well if you can). If they still refuse to repair it do not pay all that money - you can build a very tasty desktop for that much.
