    @DeeX @judal57
    You can use most of the benchmarks who push the whole system in lop over time. Eg a paid Futuremark software like 3Dmark suite and 3Dm11(You can customize all paid Futuremark benchmark tests so that they can run for longer periods). If you have a demanding game so use this also. It has been shown that this throttling problem occurs when there is high load on both CPU+GPU such as in gaming. Have a talk with @VICKYGAMEBOY He have tested a lot.

    The only problem is that if you stress the processor and not also the Gpu, there will be less or no throttling. You must have full load on CPU and GPU.

    You can put on Furmark or Heaven simultaneously. Set up Hwinfo + RTSS for monitoring the processor and GPU in real time. Maybe you can se the Heaven or Hell, LOL
    I recommend not Furemark. This junk is banned by all vbios modders ;).

    Fire up Wprime 1024M stress test(select 8 threads) and Heaven simultaneously. More pressure on processor will make it more interesting :D BTW Nice Firestrike score :p

    1024M and (8 threads was as default) 0% throttling. Also i want to add that i have an overlocked gtx970m +150mhz on core and +402mhz on memory

    What if you put the processor to the default max turbo boost (1 core 3.5, 2 core 3.4 and 3 and 4 core 3.3GHz) + power plan to maximum performance? 3.0GHz is not the default clock speed for your i7-4710HQ. No one should need to put the processor to a lower clock speed than default .

    i say it before many times, the max frecuency i can have without throttling is 3Ghz on all cores.

    I was most interested to see how far down the processor throttled. Not more than that... You can imagine what desktop users would have said if they had to clock down the processor because it is crippled by design or the motheboard had crippled bios.

    yes it sucks ..... at least i handleled the heat problem and i can have 3Ghz without problem in large sesion of gaming. In the games that i usually play, the processor is not a determining factor, so i am happy with 3Ghz and really good temps (65-70°C at max when plaing) and my gpu is 60-65°C OCed

    I've been noticing this that my core clocks down to 800mhz even though I'm on high performance mode. This only happens once in a blue moon and i haven't noticed any decrease in performance. I'm guessing this is just spikes down on the core like maybe less than a minute because i don't notice any decrease on performance. I'm playing dragon age inquisition an old game maybe thats why I can't compare to those who plays new games and there laptop throttles down more than my does. Plus I cannot recreate this throttling because I'm too busy playing that I cannot see in the graph when it happens. In XTU the max time for the graph that i can see is 1 hour. Is there a way to increase the time so i can locate when it throttles down and I can show this to dell. anyways here's the pic. Throttling.jpg

    Use Throttlestop. There is a log function that you can use for this. If you have any questions... Ask @unclewebb in the Throttlestop guide. He is better in English than me.

    HWinfo64 not 100% reliable on core clock frequency? hwinfo64 shows core 1 went down to 800MHZ while XTU and HWmonitor shows that it stayed on 3k Mhz. by the way @Papusan i haven't read throttlestop guide got to lazy.. hahaha.. sry.. throttling core 1.jpg

    Very old thread but here is the thing. 100C is still very normal for Dell!

    AW engineering has gone to trash with 100C as "normal"

    as i said you on another thread, you can solve that by undervolting the cpu, do you know how to do it ? if not PM me

    For Aida64 stress test... Rather check only the box stress FPU (uncheck all other boxes for pure processor stress test). Then test again (cpu/gpu). But this time check the box FPU and GPU's only. If you do it this way, you will push your hardware even more :cool:
