    I just saw the announcement video. I think I'll return my new aw 17 r2 (aka throttle machine) and get that one.

    The 18 uses LGA CPUs and MXM GPUs.

    I just realized this isn't AW 18 r2. They are only selling the AW 18 r1 with new GPU's.

    Yeah, noticed that while reading the other aw18 thread, I guess no alienware 18 with GA port til next year, hope they manage to put two gtx 990m's in that beast somehow

    I wonder how big the market for behemoths like the aw18 or the msi gt80 is, 5+ kg can't be described as portable in any way, that kinda kills the purpose of a 'laptop'.

    It's funny they said "you asked for it, we brought it back" my a$$ :p

    We, who are the owner of Alienware 17 R2, asking them to make a nicely BIOS but they can't do it. Giving out an old system with new CPU and GPU, is it good? I hope it will and not suck as AW 17. If I can come back to where I bought this system, I would return it and wait for the next year refresh with skylake.
