Hello, I really hope someone here can help me with this problem.. For the past 2-3 months when I go to shut down my computer, there seems to be a 25% chance that instead of shutting down, the fans will blow really hard and the computer just won't shut down.

At that point, I have to hold the power button, and I reboot my computer to attempt a proper shutdown. Whenever this happens, the boot into windows takes significantly longer then normal, but it does load.

Then, when I attempt to shut down the computer again, it always works, however, sometimes this error shows prior to shutting down:

If you don't want to click on the image, this is what it says:

Closing 1 app and shutting down:

    Microsoft .NET Framework
    (This app is preventing shutdown)

The exception unknown software exception (0xe0434352( occured in the application at location 0x000000007462DAE8.

This has happened since I have upgraded to Windows 10 and did a clean install. Probably very soon after.

Any and all help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

This same thing happened to me when I had AW15R1.
I was able to fix it at one point by reinstalling all of the drivers.
I now have the AW17R3 (same mobo as 15R2) and this hasnt happened once.
It was something that also drove me nuts when I had the 15R1.

    Some questions:

    What BIOS are you on?
Do you have the Prema vBIOS installed?
Do you have any drivers installed that you did not get from the Dell site?

    I am on bios A06.

I am not running the Prema vBIOS.

From what I remember.. I want to say yes, I installed all the drivers from the dell site, there wouldn't be a way to confirm this though, right?

Is there any way to fix it without doing another clean install? Any suggestions?

Is there a reason I need to download the revo uninstaller? Can I just do this under program files > uninstall? In the list I can see the AW command center, however, where can I actually unistall the AW OSD (On screen display?).

EDIT: Installed REVO uninstaller (awesome program) uninstalled command center. As far as AW OSD it turns out I never installed it, so I installed it as well as reinstalling the command center.. Will report back if the problem continues. Thanks!

I had a similar issue on one of my AW18's especially the fans just blowing at max speed for about 10-15 seconds, while booting into Windows desktop. Drove me NUTS because the system would just freeze up completely until the fans were fully done their 'blowing purge' then everything was back to normal. It was one of the Dell software programs that was causing it, can't recall exactly which one but after deleting it, I never had that problem again. Basically just delete everything "Dell" from your programs. That fixed it for me permanently; didn't have to re-install the drivers at all.
