Hello everyone, I just took delivery of my 3rd Alienware, an Alienware 15. My shipping list, order and actual purchase listed the i7 - 4710hq processor, and I was expecting to get it. I just popped open my system info and long behold, its the slightly updated 4720hq, at no extra cost.
Just wanted to let some of you new buyers know. even though AW USA lists the 4710, they seem to ship it with the 4720. perhaps the website was not updated. But even then, my order lists the 4710.

I'll send the feedback to the team in charge for them to check whether there was an error or if the site needs to be updated. Thanks for sharing!

So the first Alienware 17 R2 I ordered from Dell had an i7-4720HQ, even though the only option available when I ordered was the 4710HQ. The first one was ordered on May 8, but came with a bad keyboard. Got the replacement for that unit today. Happy to report that the keyboard on this replacement is just fine and that it has an i7-4720HQ as well:

Very happy with Dell so far for this free and unexpected upgrade. When I go to their site and enter the service tag number for both units, the site shows both units having the 4710HQ.

interesting. I ordered my 17 R2 roughly 14 days ago, and received it Thursday evening. Mine was still shipped with the 4710HQ
