    Depends on your particular situation.

For $1100 you can build an entire gaming desktop.

So unless you simply cannot handle having two machines, I'd say take the $1100 and build a desktop.

A 980 is not a huge step up really from the 980m so i would go titan-x or leave it for now.

The titan-x is very nice, epic single card performance. Can't wait to get mine under water in my dock.

Assuming there is no bottleneck with the cable connection 4gb/s or whatever its rated at it should be way better.

The Titan X is insane for a single card, 980M SLI performance with none of the crappy quirks of SLI, power that is actually supported 100 percent in all games.

If you are gaming at 1080p I would skip the titan and just wait until the 980m starts showing it's age.

Got a 4k display off a buddy so this is the reason for the consideration, 980m just doesn't cut it hahaha

Great monitor. I had that one but sold it to get the XB270HU. You definitely want to get the GA with a strong GPU. That monitor won't operate at it's full potential without Gsync and unfortunately, you won't get that feature using only the 980m.

The HU is good aswell i was looking at that one before my buddy decided to sell his, just couldn't pass the deal up, hope the Titan x and the GA will put up a fight atleast, Hopefully the cable/connection to the GA doesn't bottleneck any potential at 4gb/s.

I'm on a ROG swift as I want the higher frame rate myself but it's all about what you want after all (and why choice is good ;) )

Here is a taste of what my setup is outputting:

It would be interesting to see what you get.

Dam I'm so jealous of all these Titan Xs! I'm really considering picking up one especially since my local Microcenter just got a huge shipment.

I plan on water cooling it and power unlocking it too which should help push it even faster :)

Do you have the fan in the GA plugged in currently? If not, what kind of temps are you getting?
