So my laptop has a 980M and I've recently bought a HDR 1000 samsung TV (KS7500), I've had a look in the nVidia driver settings and there is only an option for 8bit colour, just wonder if anyone has got this GPU to output 10bit colour?

It's possible my HDMI cable is older than the 2.0a standard so I've ordered one from amazon to try and eliminate that as a problem.

    It doesn't it has 4 HDMI's.

Hmm just tried the new cable from amazon which is apparently the latest standard but it still doesn't let me select 10bpc only 8 is available.

Maybe the port on the laptop doesn't meet requirements?

I think the Intel iGPU doesnt support it. The iGPU acts as a pass through.

I managed to sort it out.

The issue was to set higher than 8bpc the colour mode needs to be on Ycbr422 not RGB.

Although the TV goes into HDR mode whether its on RGB 8bpc or Ycbr422 10bpc and I'm not sure if I can see much difference between them. They both look much better than applications that don't support HDR but against each other I'm not sure I can see it.
