I am wondering if I can push a 4k video signal from my laptop even though it only has the 1920x1080 screen. I have the i7-8750H and a 1060 video card.

Will I be able to pull that off?

Depends on the lowest common HDMI port version across the devices. 2.1 can do 4k@120Hz (assuming the TV can support 120Hz 4K) , 2.0 @60Hz etc. Actually, not sure what HDMI version wouldn't we able to do 4K @ 60Hz.

    Yes you can.

HDMI 2.0 is supported on R5. I think since R4 or R3 you can do it.

Worse case scenario is a active mDP to HDMI adapter.
