It seems that someone got ahold of the secret sauce.

EDIT: This is maybe an R2 laptop.

EDIT 2: The guy is covering the Service Tag number... really don't know what the hell is going on here.

That's interesting. The timings are still really sloppy (19-19-19-43 2T), but if he doesn't know how it changed that is even more interesting. Especially if nobody else is seeing it if they have 2666 RAM and that new BIOS. Wonder if XTU will show access to memory settings with that new BIOS? Someone should check. It might do more than 2666 if that is the case. And, if it will not you still might be able to adjust the timings to something closer to being appropriate, like CL13 or CL14. CL19 is more in line with what is typical for DDR4-4000. CL16 is typical for DDR4-3000.

The OP did write that it's not an modified bios...

I have a suspicion that he might found a bug that allows ram to boot at 2667mhz, while running in alternative dimms but in dual channel.

By alternative do you mean mismatched sticks?

I mean like we run dimms 1+4 instead in the Clevo, as traces have less noise with this config and can achieve higher speeds.
Where you still get dual channel in:

    Dimm 1+2
    Dimm 3+4
    Dimm 1+4
    Dimm 3+2

OK, cool. Thanks for clarifying that. People should be trying that if they haven't already.

Did anyone actually check BIOS 1.8.1 to see if it fixed RAM support?

Everyone tested 1.8.1 for the GPU throttle issue but perhaps they fixed the RAM?

    I'm running 2133Mhz RAM still so I can't check...

EDIT: That guy is running a custom build BIOS...

I flashed 1.8.1 and tried 2666Mhz RAM from another laptop and STILL runs at 2400Mhz....

Tried @jc_denton method too, no luck.

Gotta downgrade to 1.5.0 again lol

Did you clear CMOS each time you tried different setups?

If that's the case he must have access to BGA soldering equipment and replaced the PCH chip on the motherboard with one that doesn't have BootGuard cancer, or he has an insider at Dell that has access to the firmware signing stuff because there is no way otherwise. They went all out full-spaz Nazi retard to perma-gimp it and prevent their customers from enjoying ownership rights to their computers.

    Yes
Or he has access to Dell test firmwares or the specific RAM he's running might have a bug allowing him to run 2666Mhz.

This guy released videos on the Area-51m before it was released last year.

At the end I just bought a set of 2x16GB Kingston Hyper X memory at 2400MHz and CL14. 8500 On Timespy from 8200 and 3850 CB20 from 3500 points. I'd say it's not bad, don't know if actually running at 2666MHz would improve on this.
