Besides a few online reviews, has anyone ordered/received the new Alienware 13 w/ the 965m and OLED display?

Eager to hear first hand opinions on the screen and performance from the 965m.

You could ask in the owner's lounge. I believe you will get a lot more input in there.

Yes I have one. I upgraded from an XPS15 (infinity display, 6300HQ, 960m) and this AW13R2OLED is welcome upgrade..

Screen is fantastic, and useable at native res.

The GPU is alot faster, especially given the lower native Res - the XPS15 was 4k.

I like the keyboard - much better than the XPS 15 as well.

Are we able to put the QHD screen into a 13 r2 with 1366x768 panel ?

You need a different cable I think just as with the 15inch and 17inch models. 30pin vs 40pin.

So I would just have to buy the correct cable for the screen or buy a whole screen assembly with cables? I wasnt sure if there is anything different on the motherboards for each screen

Some people we're also saying 1920x1080 would be better then oled 3200x1800 since its 13in , they say if you want to run a game on a resolution lower then 3200x1800 that you would constantly have to change the native resolution for that...not sure if you would know the answer for that too. I appreciate you replying btw! Just trying to figure this out here because when my Alienware arrives I'm sure the 1366x768 screen is going to drive me nuts lol.

If you put scaling on 200% ir would run pretty okay in most cases. But apps that do not scale are really really small on the 13inch screen then.

Regarding games. If you put the game resolution on 1600x900 you would have some nice upscaling and you can run it in fullscreen. Not need to change the resolution of the machine for that nowadays.

I just got the aw13r2 from Dell from the outlet. Resolution is 2560x1440, but the screen looks similar to the 3200x1800 one. Hwinfo says the Dell part number is v6pkj and the screen is made by Sharp (model number LQ133T1 or SHP1424). Can anyone else with the OLED screen confirm these part numbers?

    The OLED screen is 2560x1440.

Scaling is no problem at all. Some older apps look small, but none of those old apps a crucial. With more PCs being updated with QHD and 4K resolutions, more apps and websites are supporting it.

Also whoever says that 1920x1080 is better than ANY OLED is nuts.

Can I look that up without dismantling the computer?

Yes just download the software "hwinfo" and run it, then click on "monitor" and it will give you all the details.
    Thanks!

I doubt it. Even if you could, where would you find one? OLED availability if very sparse

I just need to know if the connector on motherboard is the same , either oled or the 1080p screen. They do pop up on eBay time to time. (Full screen Assembly's)

Regarding OLED screen, is it possible to set resultion 1366*768 without loosing too much quality and dullness?
